About La Colonia

Located in the Oakland Community

La Colonia is conveniently located in Topeka, Kansas at the corner of Golden Avenue and Seward Avenue. La Colonia, Inc. is a non-profit corporation sponsored by LULAC Council #11071, and James Jimmy Martinez Chapter GI Forum and subsidized by HUD. Its purpose is to provide housing for low and middle income adults who are age 62 or require the special design features of an accessible unit.

All of the apartments and cottages have been designed with quality independent living in mind. Each home features wall to wall carpet, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious closets and individually controlled heating and air conditioning.

From an attractive lounge to its spacious one bedroom apartments and cottages, every effort has been made to meet the needs of our residents. Services include off street parking, wall to wall carpeting, window coverings, water & trash paid, snow removal, lawn care, red carpet library service, lounge and community room.
